Job Title: Seasonal Lifeguard

Location: The Cove

Summary: We are seeking enthusiastic and vigilant individuals to join our team as Seasonal Lifeguards. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons by monitoring swimming activities and responding to emergencies. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our community and ensure a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment during the peak season.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor swimming areas to ensure the safety of all patrons.
2. Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
3. Provide friendly and professional customer service to patrons by addressing inquiries and concerns.
4. Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including performing water rescues and administering first aid as needed.
5. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify any hazards or maintenance issues.
6. Participate in regular training sessions to maintain and enhance lifeguarding skills and knowledge.
7. Assist with cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned.
8. Collaborate with other lifeguards and staff to coordinate activities and ensure efficient operation of the facility.

Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 16 years of age (age requirements may vary by location).
2. Strong swimming skills.
3. Excellent observational skills and ability to remain vigilant and focused for extended periods.
4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
6. Physical stamina and agility to perform rescues and respond to emergencies in water and on land.
7. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous experience as a lifeguard or in a related role.
2. Current certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
3. Proficiency in water rescue techniques.

Work Schedule: Seasonal lifeguards typically work flexible schedules based on the needs of the facility, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The duration of employment may vary depending on the seasonal demands of the position.
