Summary: We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Seasonal Park and Recreation Workers. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty, safety, and functionality of our parks and recreational facilities during the peak season. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enjoyment and well-being of our community while gaining valuable experience in outdoor maintenance and recreation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of park grounds, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, planting flowers, and removing litter.
- Perform routine inspections of park facilities, playgrounds, and equipment to ensure they are safe and in good working condition.
- Assist with setting up and organizing recreational activities, events, and programs.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to park visitors by answering questions, providing information, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Monitor Park areas to enforce rules and regulations, maintain order, and ensure the safety of visitors.
- Assist with the rental of parking facilities and equipment, including collecting fees and completing rental agreements.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving park amenities and enhancing the visitor experience.
- Work collaboratively with other park staff and supervisors to coordinate tasks and priorities.
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform a variety of outdoor maintenance tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with park visitors and team members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and equipment operation preferred.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in parks, recreation, landscaping, or related field.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to park maintenance and operation.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, if required for specific duties.
Work Schedule: Seasonal Park and recreation workers typically work flexible schedules based on the needs of the department, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The duration of employment may vary depending on the seasonal demands of the position.
